Co-Care Farmers/Junior Program
Our two vocational programs are for young adults (Co-Care Farmers), children and teens (Co-Care Farmers Jr.) with developmental, physical, sensory or mental health needs who have an interest in being part of a farm operation.
Each program will give participants the opportunity to build a sense of responsibility, independence and pride, all while experiencing life on a 50-acre organic farm.
Participants will:
Make new friends
Take on leadership roles
Boost coping skills
Foster independence
Practice teamwork skills
Increase self-esteem
Improve social skills
Learn through experience and exploration
The focus of each program is to teach hard skills of working on the farm (using farm tools, animal care and gardening), alongside soft skills (fundamental skills, personal management skills and teamwork skills).
Client Love
“She loved working with the animals. She had a great time getting to know other kids that were like her (with special needs), and she really enjoyed being outside around the pond. Overall, it was a very positive and rewarding experience. She had a smile on her face even when she wasn’t at camp. She constantly talked about her daily adventures and the staff. Awesome experience for her.”
